EXTRA LIFE

One Up for the Kids!

Get started with Extra Life!

Extra Life is a diverse community of gamers who combine their love of gaming with a passion for giving back to their local CMN Hospital! Gamers ask their friends and families to support their mission by donating to their favorite method of gaming -- including video, board, tabletop, and roleplaying games -- in support of Duke Children’s.

Extra Life has raised over $1.2 Million for Duke Children’s since 2010.

Extra Life celebrates many gaming events throughout the year, including Tabletop Appreciation Weekend in April, Star Wars Day in May, and National Game Day in November. However, Extra Life participants are passionately making a difference for Duke Children’s year-round! You can organize your own game night with friends, start a benefit night at your local gaming store, or own game on your own. The possibilities are endless, all you have to do is start!

Extra Life became a part of Duke Children’s in 2010 and is led through a collaborative effort by our Volunteer Council. The Council is a group of dedicated Extra Lifers that work together to promote Extra Life within our community, and partners with area conventions, comic, and game stores, and other avenues to recruit members and hold community events throughout the year. Our volunteers are the heart of our effort, and we’d love for you to join us on our mission to make a difference for local kids!
