Making Miracles - Summer 2020 + Coming this Fall

Despite COVID-19 restrictions, our Children's Miracle Network Hospitals corporate partners have had a busy summer and are preparing for an even busier fall! Read on for summer successes from our committed partners and CMN programs and to learn more about opportunities to support Duke Children's through your everyday errands and hobbies this fall. Ace Hardware Stores
Our participating Ace Hardware partners finished up a successful July round-up campaign and culminated their fundraising efforts with the annual Ace Bucket Days promotion! Every year Ace Hardware locations are strong contributors to Duke Children's efforts in clinical care, pediatric research, and physician education. 

Walmart, Sam's Club, and Neighborhood Market annual register campaign
The nearly 120 Walmarts, Sam's Clubs, and Neighborhood Markets that fundraise for Duke Children's raised $793,367 for Duke Children's, a 42.8% increase from the 2019 total. This total reflects only register fundraising, not funds raised from bake sales, carnivals, and other in-store efforts that happen year-round. Additionally, Duke Children's will also receive a share of the $1,699,850 raised online through the Walmart website and app. Learn more about Walmart's incredible efforts.

Costco
Costco's annual register campaign for CMN Hospitals runs through the month of September! Last year, Costco was CMN Hospitals' top national partner in terms of fundraising. If you are stopping in to stock up on groceries, don’t forget to make a donation to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital - Duke Children's!

Extra Life peer-to-peer fundraising
Extra Life is a movement for gamers (video, board, tabletop, and more!) who want to support their local CMN Hospitals. Extra Lifers raise money year-round, culminating in a massive international day of play each fall -- this year, Game Day is November 7. Extra Lifers can participate from the comfort of their own homes and have raised more than $70 million dollars since the program was founded in 2008.
How to get involved?

  • Sign up to play at Extra Life's site
  • Select Duke Children’s Hospital and support your local community
  • Share your fundraising page on social media accounts and ask your friends and family to donate (100% of the funds stay local!)
  • Dedicate a Day of Play (choose any day of the year or play with the Extra Life community Saturday, November 7)

GameStop 
GameStop is hosting an in-store round-up campaign to benefit CMN Hospitals like Duke Children's -- and there is no end date! Make a donation at your local GameStop on your next visit. 

Love's Travel Stops
Love's Travel Stops' annual round up at the register campaign has been ongoing since July 14, and ends October 3. Initially planned to start August 31, the company decided to start the campaign seven weeks early this year to increase funds raised for sick and injured children during the COVID-19 pandemic and to assist in the federal change shortage due to the limited supply because of COVID-19 production shortages. Round up at the register if you are refueling at Love's between now and October 3! 

Speedway 
Speedway holds monthly fundraising pushes, and has been fueling miracles each month this year as they help the families at Duke Children’s. Make a donation next time you stop for gas or snacks!

The Great Clips CMN Hospitals fundraising campaign will run the month of October at participating locations.Visit Great Clips for a great haircut and make a donation to support Duke Children’s! 

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is an alliance of 170 premier children’s hospitals in North America which collectively treat more than 17 million sick and injured children each year. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals creates strategic partnerships with businesses and organizations whose individual locations then raise money for their local hospital.

Since 1984, Duke Children’s has raised funds through various Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partnerships.

Duke Children’s is the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital for the Triad, Triangle, and Wilmington areas and receives support from more than 650 organizations and business locations in these areas.

You can help support Duke Children’s by shopping and donating at our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partners and support events like Radiothon, Miracle Network Dance Marathon, and Extra Life!  Look for the yellow Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals balloon at your local businesses, restaurants, and organizations to know that they are a valued Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner.
