OVER THE EDGE FOR DUKE CHILDREN’S
Thank you for being a part of the 2024 Over the Edge for Duke Children's and the Duke Children's Community Fair
The fourth Over the Edge for Duke Children’s was held April 20, 2024, a beautiful spring day in downtown Durham. 50 brave Edgers took the leap for Duke Children’s to rappel 17 stories down the side of the historic 21c Museum Hotel. Individual Over the Edge fundraising and event sponsorship from our ten sponsors resulted in $62,150 raised for the areas of greatest need at Duke Children’s.
All participants were either fundraisers who had raised a minimum of $1,000 for clinical care, pediatric research, and provider education, or members of businesses who had sponsored the event.
A Duke Children’s Community Fair with booths from seven different organizations was held as part of Over the Edge, at CCB Plaza, adjacent to 21c in downtown Durham. Attendees of this free and family-friendly event enjoyed a Teddy Bear Hospital with Duke Children’s Child Life, face painting with Duke Hospital School teachers, activities with Duke Live for Life and Book Harvest, a jewelry boutique with Kendra Scott, and games for play on the plaza.
Thank you for everyone who participated in Over the Edge or visited our Community Fair!

We want YOU to to help us reach new heights for Duke Children's! We're looking for brave supporters to help raise money for Duke Children's patient care, research, physician education, and the chance to rappel down a building in downtown Durham! It may not be for the faint of heart, but it’s an experience you don’t want to miss. Plus, when you participate you pledge to take the leap for the children and families who come to Duke Children's for hope and for healing, and for the physicians, nurses, and staff who work tirelessly to provide the best possible patient care.
Over the Edge participants who achieve the fundraising goal of $1,000 or more will get to rappel 17 stories down the side of the historic 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Durham. No experience necessary, but spots are limited!
